“En la Roma Imperial ya se organizaban grandes espectáculos: combates de gladiadores, carreras de cuadrigas, luchas de fieras, representaciones teatrales, náuticas… Este divertimento y la distribución de alimentos de manera gratuita se convirtieron en las dos grandes herramientas de control social. Es lo que se ha llamado tradicionalmente la política del “pan y circo” para el pueblo…”
